Rare, highly desired for its sporty design, pure tool watch, the Rolex Explorer II reference 1655, introduced in 1971, was designed as a tool watch for cave divers, featuring a fixed 24-hour bezel and a prominent orange 24-hour hand to help distinguish between day and night in dark environments.The Mark I variant of the 1655, produced between 1971 and 1972, is particularly notable for its unique characteristics, a straight second hand and a thinner case, very comfortable to the wrist. This example is very attractive for it retains all its original parts and presents a natural soft aging to its original tritium dial and hands set. The polished case remains strong and the original dated (.72) bracelet, full size, 13 links, are in perfect condition. Recently serviced, timed and tuned.
